Job Listing: Lasar Operator/CNC

A Wire Department Lead will need to be able to perform the following tasks: Manage Product Flow Supervise staff in department Conduct performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring and development of employees. Maintain and clean all machines and work areas. Set up and operate Wire EDM, and machine tools. Fit and assemble parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jugs and fixtures, gauges and machinist hand tools. Apply knowledge of tool and die design, construction, and apply shop mathematics. Order all replacement parts for wire EDM machines. Working knowledge of metal properties. Analyze and use specification such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and be able to visualize product. Be able to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. Compute dimensions, plan layouts and determine and determine assembly method and sequence of operation.

Required Skills

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.

Perform the following tasks:

Verify conformance of machined parts to specification.
Position and secure parts on surface plates or worktable, using devices such as vises v-blocks and angle plates.
Smooth flat and contoured surfaces using scrapers, abrasive stones, and power grinders.
Verify dimensions and clearances using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gauge blocks or thickness gauges.
