Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience is typically in or related to the work of the position described in the Major Duties above.
Specialized experience is work which demonstrates possession of the following: Knowledge of the concepts, principles and methods of equal opportunity or of fair housing; Knowledge of equal opportunity laws being enforced; Skill in investigating and analyzing problems and skill in writing.
Normally these skills and knowledges would have been acquired by direct work in equal opportunity or civil rights, either as an equal opportunity investigator, affirmative action manager, community action in civil rights or equal opportunity, legal experience in equal opportunity or fair housing cases.
There is no substitution of education at this level.
