The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is seeking a full time Registered Nurse, VN-610-I/II/III for the Radiology Department.

NOTE:  The applicant selected may be eligible to apply for an education loan reimbursement award under the provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Tour of Duty: Days (Monday-Friday)



Major Duties



As a Registered Nurse assigned in Radiology, the nurse is primarily responsible for applying the nursing process in providing quality nursing care for the inpatient and outpatient veteran undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and/or interventional Radiological procedures.  The RN must be multi-skilled and independent in providing continuity of care through pre-procedural assessment and preparation, intra-procedural intervention monitoring, and post-procedural evaluation, including patient education and follow-up interview in the following areas:  (1) Diagnostic Imaging (ultrasound, CAT Scan, Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and General Radiology); (2) Diagnostic radiological procedures using contrast media; (3) Interventional procedures (biopsy, angiogram, implantable device and drain tube placements, embolization); (4) PICC placement; (5) Post-procedure recovery.

Qualifications

1)  Citizenship.  Citizen of the United States. 



(2)  Graduation from School of Nursing.  Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. 



(3)  Registration/Licensure.  A nurse will have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.  The RN must maintain a current, full, active and unrestricted registration to continue employment with VA.

Graduation from School of Nursing.  Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. 



Additional Nurse II Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:  (a) BSN in Nursing (NLNAC or CCNE Accredited) and approximately 2 to 3 years experience or (b) Master’s degree in nursing or related field with BSN (NLNAC) or CCNE accredited program and approximately 1.2 years experience or (c) doctoral degree in nursing or related field from a regionally accredited university or college with no experience required.



Additional Nurse III Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: (a) Master’s Degree in nursing or related field with BSN (NLNAC or CCNE Accredited) and approximately 2 -3 years of experience or (b) Doctoral degree in nursing or related field, (regionally accredited University or College) and approximately 2 to 3 years experience.


You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

Will be subject to the provision of the VA's Drug-Free Federal Workplace Policy, which includes both pre-employment/placement and random drug testing for the use of illegal drugs throughout employments.  Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with the VA.



You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in License for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.

You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
