1. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-7 LEVEL: At least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, performing basic investigative assignments requiring the skill to apply standard investigative principles and techniques performing compliance assignments, receiving guidance and detailed instructions from higher grade investigators.

ALTERNATE PROVISION:
Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the baccalaureate level in the coursework detailed above under Education Substitution is fully qualifying. Applicants who wish to apply under this provision must submit proof from their educational institution that they meet one of the criteria listed below. To qualify for SAA, applicants must have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following:
1. A grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
2. A grade-point average of "B " (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university or major subdivision.
4. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-7 LEVEL: Successfully completed at least one full year of graduate level study (18 hours) or possess a masters or higher degree, e.g., LLB. JD, LLM, Ph.D., etc. with a major in agriculture, agricultural economics, farm management, business administration, economics, law. or any other field directly related to the position to be filled.
