Major Duties

A vacancy exists for one full-time (1.0) LPN position in Ophthalmology, Patient Care Services/Surgical/Specialty Care Service Line at the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City, IA.  Applicants with the following qualifications are invited to apply for the position.  EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:A.      A graduate of an approved LPN program.

B.     Certification, specialized courses, seminars, workshops, etc, within the past two years which would enhance desirability for the position.

EXPERIENCE:

A.      A minimum of 1 year LPN experience is preferred. Experience with the specific specialty of patients is preferred.

B.     Clinical competence in current assignment.

C.     Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, and adherence to work obligations which include professional and clinical integrity.

D.     Demonstrated effective practice during emergency situations.

E.     Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationship skills in professional practice.
