Perform customer drop installations complete from tap to customer equipment in single and multi-family dwellings including prewired units; perform installations adhering to Comcast procedures and safe work practices, NEC and NESC requirements, and local ordinances in order to provide services to the customer. Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement. Survey the installation route and review proposed route with the customer in order to obtain agreement on the location of cable outlet(s). Perform reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects, additional outlets; install and remove converters in order to provide customer with upgrades or downgrades in service.Perform service calls. Troubleshoot the drop from the tap to the customer’s equipment. Perform CLI Ride-outs. Clean, maintain and stock vehicle and equipment in order to be prepared to handle all types of installations.Inspect existing ground or make new ground according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) in order to protect employees, customers, and equipment from electrical shock or damage. Complete associated paperwork with each work order in a timely manner in order to ensure all details of the work are recorded for entry in the customer’s account once the work is checked in. Determine acceptability of service by reviewing picture quality following installation or service call in order to provide the best possible service for the customer. Provide the customer with materials regarding channel line up, use of converter and company policies as they relate to the customer as well as demonstrate these skills in order to educate the customer on the use of the equipment and company guidelines. Provide information on available services to new and existing customers in order to sell additional services and attempt to upgrade existing services. Pre-wire single homes and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) in order to provide “ready hook-up” capabilities at the time of moving in. Repair or report all system signal leakage found while performing an installation and in order to reduce ingress and egress. Properly operate and maintain installation tools and equipment. Report need for vehicle repair or service when required and/or prescribed. Report any accidents, losses, injuries or property damage to supervisor and customer when appropriate.Apply knowledge and skills of training on the job in order to prepare for transition to CommTech 4. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor in order to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Perform installation of the Comcast Online service (Broadband). Install Network Interface Card or USB adapter and Comcast Online software. Connect cable modem; modify PC/software configuration to establish connectivity. Demonstrate online service and educate customer relevant to connecting to the service, home page, national and local content, web browsing using URL(s), etc (Broadband). Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Required Skills

EDUCATION:High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self study.

EXPERIENCE:Valid driver's license with good driving record.Minimum of 1 - 2 years as installer or fulfillment tech with CATV or related technical exposure.

Ability to work overtime, as needed.
