Position: Facilities Construction Engineer

Location: Santa Ana Field Office

Requirements:

1) Knowledge of architecture, engineering, and building construction sufficient to review and inspect repair and alteration work and new construction of customer service facilities.
2) Knowledge of the construction industry as it relates to the planning processes for design and construction of new facilities.
3) Knowledge of facility contracting procedures, cost estimating, job site safety, project scheduling, and quality control procedures for all customer service facilities.
4) Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret design and construction documents and technical reports.
5) Ability to negotiate costs related to design and construction contracts.
6) Ability to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations on design and construction solutions, taking into account technical merit, life cycle cost, etc.
7) Ability to manage multiple assignments, tasks, and priorities.
8) Ability to utilize computer applications (i.e. CADD, spreadsheets) associated with the field of design and construction.
9) Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with managers, peers, customers, contractors, and consultants.
10) Possession of a Bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or in an Engineering field related to the design and construction of buildings; or possession of current state registration as an Architect or as an Engineer in a field related to the design and construction of buildings.

Special Notes:

1) This position involves frequent travel.
2) A minimum of two years design and construction related work experience is desired.
3) The salary range is $49,490 – $83,465.
