The duty station is the John Cochran Division; however, the duty station may be changed to one or multiple associated VAMC locations within the metropolitan St. Louis, MO area based on the needs of the medical center



Major Duties

Demonstrates an excellent customer service philosophy with both internal and external customers.  Assists in the performance of special procedures (i.e. hemodialysis treatment, sanitization, and various cultures).  Performs a variety of technical support duties in support of the service.  Works directly with the R.N. and other team members in implementing the plan of care and monitoring patients’ conditions.  Requires minimal direct supervision and is able to set patient care priorities.

Required Skills

Qualifications

U.S. Citizen; graduate of a school of practical nursing approved by the appropriate State accrediting agency.  Current, full, unrestricted licensure as a graduate licensed practical nurse in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.

QUALIFICATIONS:      

1.       Current L.P.N. Licensure.

2.       A minimum of 2 to 3 years successful practice as an L.P.N.



REQUIREMENTS:

  1.  Ability to carry out a full scope of L.P.N. roles in this nursing scope

  2.  I.V. Certified.


You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in Licensure for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.

You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
