The Medical Center delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary medical care in 166 acute operating beds and provides 467,900 visits annually through an extensive outpatient program. The nursing home care unit of 113 beds offers geriatric programming and the 356 domiciliary beds are the locus of programs in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder care.
There is an immediate opportunity for a Home Telehealth (CCHT) and Community Outreach Nurse with the Spinal Cord Injury Division.
Major Duties
The incumbent practices as a staff nurse (RN) in the Spinal Cord Injury Division functioning in the role of Home Telehealth (CCHT) RN and is responsible for assessing veterans for participation in home monitoring, education on the use of and deployment of equipment, monitoring data from enrolled veterans and working with primary care providers on interventions as needed. This is a collaborative effort with the hospital wide CCHT program. In addition the staff nurse will triage telephone calls from SCI patients, families and community care attendants and assist in completing the requests to continue community care of the patient. Cross coverage to other clinical areas in Spinal Cord Injury outpatient and community service programs as needed.How to Apply

Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience
Citizen of the United States
A registered nurse (RN) will have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. The appointing official may waive this registration if the RN is to serve in a country other than the U.S. and the RN has registration in that country (e.g., Philippines). The RN must maintain a current, full, active and unrestricted registration to continue employment with VA.
Specialized Education:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant.

You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: 48,963.00 - 79,949.00 USD per yearGrade and salary will be determined by the Professional Standards Board and the Medical Center Director.
