This position is located in a Commissary Store and serves as the Supervisory Commissary Specialist, General Manager.

Major Duties

Major Duties: Serves as a General Manager, fully participating in the management of all store activities and performs the full range of supervisory duties. Provide technical advice on merchandising and operational matters pertaining to grocery, meats, and produce supplies, as well as front end operations.

Qualifications Requirements: Applicants may qualify for this position by having at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band or equivalent under the GS or other pay systems.  Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods, principles, procedures and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management.  Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Managing a commissary store, supermarket or similar type of commercial retail food store: Managing a department in a retail food store: Planning or controlling operations in an assigned group of retail food stores; Developing, interpreting, or applying policies, procedures, and operating standards for use in a retail food store; or providing technical advice on merchandising and operational matters pertaining to grocery, meats and produce supplies as well as front-end operation; or at least one year of specialized experience performing duties in support of commissary operations as a Wage Leader (WL) or as a Wage Supervisor (WS).

Successful completion of at least one-half year of education above a Bachelor's degree or Superior Academic Achievement (GPA 2.9) in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other related fields in an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university.

If you do not meet in full the experience or education requirements, you may qualify based on an equivalent combination of experience and education.
