This position will require the person to take call at night and weekends. This position is located in the VA staffed Mental Health Clinic located at Ft. Hood. This clinic will provide mental health services to OEF/OIF military personnel which may also include family members.
Major Duties
This position will require the person to take call at night and weekends. This position is located in the VA staffed Mental Health Clinic located at Ft. Hood. This clinic will provide mental health services to OEF/OIF military personnel which may also include family members. Incumbent will coordinate the provision of all psychological services with the inpatient/outpatient area(s) to which they have been assigned and act as consultants to other areas where the needs for their specialty or subspecialty expertise are required. The primary duties involve a broad range of psychological consultations to other professional health care providers as well as the provision of a variety of direct patient care services, teaching, and research, as assigned. These services are diversified and complete so as to meet the needs of the diverse patient population and other treatment personnel both within the assigned area and wherever the psychologist is called upon to provide services. Incumbent will utilize assessment techniques, including diagnostic interviews, behavioral observations, objective and projective personality tests, tests of intellectual, perceptual, motor and interpersonal functioning. The incumbent may also use specialized measures of substance use, motivation, and impulse control, in accordance with the clinical privileges of the practitioner and the duties assigned. Incumbent must possess the ability to work with groups in a counseling or therapeutic interaction, practicing traditional forms of group therapy as well as developing/implementing new treatment evidenced-based intervention strategies according to the needs of the patient population.

Qualifications
1. Must be a citizen of the United States.
2. Must have doctoral degree in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Specialty of degree must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed.
3. Must have completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA. Exceptions (1) new VHA psychology internship programs that are in the process of applying for APA accreditation are acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement, provided that such programs were sanctioned by the VHA Central Office Program Director for Psychology and the VHA Central Office of Academic Affiliations at the time that the individual was an intern and (2) VHA facilities who offered full one-year pre-doctorial internships prior to PL 96-151 (pre-1979) are considered to be acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement.
4. Licensure: Must hold full, current, unrestricted licensure to practice in the United States or this can be waived for 2 years from the date of employment if under supervision of a licensed psychologist.
5. Must meet physical requirements mandated by VA Directive and Handbook 5019.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7405(f).
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.

Salary Range: 54,494.00 - 100,976.00 USD per yearSalary to be determined by a Psychologist Compensation Panel Based on Education, Experience and Credentials
