The Alaska Fire Service is located in Interior Alaska in Fairbanks. The population of Fairbanks is approximately 65,000. All amenities of a small city are available including a hospital, university and schools, and international airport. Summer temperatures usually range from mid 70s to high 80s and winter temperatures can reach below -40 degrees F. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Primary Initial Attack Fire Dispatcher in support of Alaskas interagency fire suppression program.
