An environmental and materials testing consultant specialist firm is seeking a qualified Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to work with engineers to assist in reducing team member exposure levels to hazards in the Las Vegas area.
DUTIES:
-Responsible for monitoring team members exposure to environmental factors which will affect their health.
-Responsible for record keeping and developing and maintaining a medical monitoring program for team members.
-Air emission permitting and related maintenance and paperwork. Process water pollutant discharge and related maintenance and paperwork.
-Organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs.
-Perform routine safety inspections. Keep OSHA required records on accidents and maintenance.
-Administer team member safety training/hazard communications.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-Basic knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures for project management.
-Knowledge of methods, procedures and techniques used in collecting and testing samples such as dusts, mists, fumes,vapors, noise, non-ionizing radiation, cold and heat stress and biological agents.
-Certification in one of the following is preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Certified Health Physicist (CHP) by American Board of Health Physicists, Licensed Medical Physicist (LMP) in the specialty area of Medical Health Physics.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
-Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology or equivalent verifiable experience in Environmental Health and Safety field. Working knowledge of (chemistry, human anatomy & physiology, math and statistics.)
