Job Listing: LAN / Desktop Support

Technical Environment: All Microsoft Platforms: Active Directory, MS Server/Server 2003/Server 2000, Desktop: MS XP/2003.

Job Description: LAN ADMINISTRATOR: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN) and workstation environment; install hardware and software ensuring LAN security according to corporate guidelines; work effectively with internal and external business contacts; troubleshoot desktop, printer and other hardware; and perform other duties as assigned.

"Must Haves"

Knowledge of:
Microsoft operating system and products.

Skill in: using office machines, personal computers and related software such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, McAfee AntiVirus.

Requirements: At least two years LAN administrator experience or equivalent education and experience. Will entertain entry-level people: some internship or some on the job experience, who are very willing to learn, train and have an excellent customer service attitude.

Ability to:
communicate effectively orally and in writing
work with various departments and the public
handle and maintain confidential information
understand and respond to written and oral instructions
relate on a personal basis with local network users, peers, and vendors

Other skills essential for this assignment: They will be servicing a range of users from white-collar corporate users to blue-collar field users and must be able to perform well in both environments.

Specific issues regarding working environment: Requires working in a team environment; and under stressful conditions associated with LAN user deadlines and heavy workloads. Requires prolonged use of a computer; working irregular or extended hours; and travel to complete projects.
