CAD DESIGNER


JOB SUMMARY:
*Prepares assembly and detail drawings, following the general instructions and directions of a Product Line Manager or CAD Designer.
*With assistance of senior personnel makes various calculations such as strength of materials, weights, simple forces, and stresses.
*Prepares bills of material and specifications.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Prepares general arrangement, assembly and detail drawings for new or improved products, and configured products to customer
order.
*Prepares bills of material and part master records in accordance with accepted procedures for all assemblies and subassemblies.
*Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions.
*Also prepares and evaluates tolerance stack-ups.
*Provides information when required for cost estimating, such as blank layouts and sketches.
*Makes orthographic or isometric illustrations required for sales aids.
*Assists in the follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
*Secures quotations and expedites materials and delivery.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
*One to two year's college or trade school education in mechanical drawing
*May be required to perform Quality Audits and related areas.
*Minimum of one year's experience or certificate with Solidworks experience.
*Minimum two years on-the-job experience.
