Work in Wilmington, DE for a company consisting of world leaders in insurance and financial services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Security Analyst position reports directly to the PLD IT Security Manager, and will perform the following tasks:

Research, evaluate, test, recommend, architect, and implement new security products and releases.
Provide Gap Analysis between security practices, processes, and solutions; recommend solutions to IT Security Manager.
Perform Security Assessments of new company acquisitions, and create detailed project plans with clear path for reaching Corporate Compliance of acquired environment.
Perform Security Assessments of new vendors the company may use for various IT services.
Analyze the company's needs with Applications Developers, and ensure that secure solutions and process improvements are implemented.
Ensure that various projects/procedures are in compliance with various laws/acts/standards, i.e.:

Company Corporate Standards
Sarbanes-Oxley
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)
Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS70)

Participate in and monitor Third Party audit activities (Price-Waterhouse Audits, for example).
Execute problem determination and resolution for security-related problems.
Assist in creating and implementing security standards, policy, guidelines, and practices.
Perform forensic analysis during security incidents/investigations.
Prepare Automated and ad-hoc reports from various security sources; for example:

e-EYE REM Console/Retina Vulnerability Scanner
Symantec ESM
ISS RealSecure (HIPS)
McAfee ePO
Batch Scripts

Train and assist Security Administrators when necessary.
Handle moderate to complex resolution without escalation, and with minimal supervision.
Manage assigned tickets efficiently - i.e., researching, acting upon, updating, and closing requests/problems in a timely way.
Interact in meetings with other IT Staff/Business Leads in understanding security issues, and discuss solutions.
Apply superior analytical skills and innovation with ability to decipher technical documentation and assess potential risks.
Work independently with minimal supervision, plan own assignments, and identify appropriate scope and execute according to plan.
Interpret security regulations and laws, and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Work collaboratively across boundaries, i.e.: divisions, functions, and geography.
Meet deadlines.
Prioritize multiple tasks.
Manage priorities.
Prepare timely updates of project status.

Required Skills

Required Skills for this Senior Security Analyst position include the following:

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3-4 years with a background in IT and/or Information Security
MUST HAVE GPO hands-on experience
A strong working knowledge of the following Operating Systems:

Windows 200x
Windows XP
UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux Variants)

Knowledge of Database and Web Security, that is:

MS SQL 200x
Oracle
IIS
Apache

Knowledge of Access Management (i.e. Active Directory, NIS+, etc.)
Strong Scripting Skills (i.e. Windows and Unix Batch Files, Perl, VBScript, etc.)
Knowledge of Firewalls and Routers (i.e. Cisco Pix, Checkpoint, etc.)
Knowledge of the following security tools preferred:

Symantec ESM
ISS RealSecure
e-EYE REM Console
Retina Vulnerability Scanner

Must possess excellent Project Management skills
Must have the following strong skills:

Written
Verbal
Listening

Must have strong PC experience with:

Word
Excel
PowerPoint
Visio
Project
Access

4-year degree in Information Systems or an equivalent combination of course work and job experience
Preferred certifications:

CISSP
MCSE
Certified Solaris Administrator
SANS GIAC Certified
