- The Principal Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support in requirements development, concept development, integration and test, and performance analysis on Navy Command & Control Programs.
- The candidate will serve as a contributor in the development of technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
The candidate will function with general direction, and will have frequent inter-organizational interactions.
The candidate must have a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of Systems Engineering, and have general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support in the development of technical concepts for Hardware and Software-based systems.
- Support the analysis, development and allocation of System and Subsystem requirements.
- Support the development of System and Subsystem Architectures.
- Conduct formal, detailed design Trade Studies in a wide range of design areas including networks and interfaces, display systems/subsystems, COTS equipment selection, power system design/control/monitoring, mechanical concepts, multi-level security approaches.
- Support the conduct of Integration & Test activities, including integration of software and hardware at the system level, conduct of tests and evaluation of test results, and performance of system-level requirements verification.
Experience:
- Experience in a Systems Engineering roles on Programs of equivalent complexity
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Hold current Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated commitment to achieve
- Ability to travel (approx 10% of time)
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related scientific or technical disciplines
- Related work experience includes the following: Systems Engineering from requirements through integration & test on large HW and SW system projects, involvement with submarine, naval and/or fleet ballistic platforms.
