Job Listing: AS/400 RPG Programmer

Our client is looking for a Senior Level AS/400 Programmer for a 6 month minimum contract. Must have a (min 7 years) AS400, RPG IV, ILE, SQL, AS400 Query, CL coding. Technical environment is AS400, RPG IV, ILE, embedded SQL, Crystal reports, CL, and New World. This is a business casual environment.

On a day to day basis, this individual will be responsible for
--Heads down programming in AS/400, RPG, SQL, CL.
--Primary work will be with the database which is an AS/400 database. May need to pull some data out of an Access database in order for people to use it. --Developing new programs or changing existing programs on the AS/400. This could involve design/process flows, programming
procedures, write and debugging complex programs.
--There are still some migration tasks as they migrate their Legacy systems to New World and this consultant could participate in some
clean up efforts or getting licenses/bills into the new system.
--Create documentation in Word.
--Run feasibility studies involving new applications and participate in recommending actions to be taken.
--System admin duties including changing user profiles, passwords, menus, libraries, analyze system utilization and system
monitoring, general housekeeping.

To be qualified for this position, individuals should have --Senior level AS/400/RPG development experience (min 7 years) - AS/400, RPG IV, RPG ILE, SQL, AS/400 Query, CL coding. --Some experience in embedded SQL programming and free form ILE RPG Programming

Plus:
--Knowledge of system design techniques and procedures
--Any web experience/knowledge (even creating web sites on own)
--Crystal Reports

This position is schedule as a 8-month contract through the end of 2008 and a strong possibility through all of 2009.
