Our client, a leading supplier of commercial and military propulsion products is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to do structural and dynamic analysis using FEA on commercial and military aerospace components.
The selected individual will be responsible for conducting linear and non-linear analyses on;
-Rocket Engines
-Propulsion Systems
-Liquid Propellant Tanks
Responsibilities include developing detailed finite element models of engines, systems tanks and components, conducting structural and dynamic tests, and evaluating test data to verify the models and hardware designs. Tasks include providing technical support on contractual programs to develop and deliver engines, tanks and propulsion systems to customers and on IR&D programs to develop new designs. Additional duties include writing technical reports and technical specifications, working with vendors to develop and procure hardware, to develop new analysis techniques in conjunction with new thruster, tank and system designs, and to conduct other such analyses as necessary to support programs.
Minimum Requirements:
-BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, MS degree preferred.
-6 to 8 years experience conducting structural and dynamic analysis using finite element PC-based software.
-Experience conducting linear and non-linear structural analysis, and fatigue and dynamic analyses are essential. Experience in the design, development, and testing of liquid rocket engines, propellant tanks, and propulsion systems is desirable. Must have demonstrated capability to work with vendors and customers.
