Job Listing: Automotive Mechanic





The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs,
rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually
acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.


Must have 36-months experience as a motor vehicle mechanic. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, work requires handling of armor plating and some work under arduous conditions. ASE Certification and Military vehicle maintenance experience is desired . Applicants are advised that this list of duties is not meant to be all inclusive, but representative of major duties and they will be required to perform all other assigned duties. Must be able to travel as necessary. A current drivers license and insurance is required for access to the MCLB installation. Must pass Base back ground security check.
