Job Listing: Mechanical Engineer

Aerotek CE is currently accepting resumes for a Mechanical Engineer to work with one of our clients in Plymouth MN. This Mechanical Engineer with be providing engineering support and/or leadership for products from product development through commercialization. Candidates will also supply engineering expertise to projects that are being conducted internally and externally.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineering position may include: conceptual design of products or subassemblies, design for manufacturability, evaluation of design manufacturability, design verification, establishing critical dimensions, and validation of manufacturing processes. Candidate may be responsible for projects both independently as well as on project teams. This position requires interaction with both external contractors and/ or suppliers. This Mechanical Engineer will have the responsibility of overseeing and performing various engineering tasks associated with R&D Discovery, product development and
continuation engineering.

Duties and responsibilities:
Assist in the conceptual design phase of new projects either as lead engineer or part of a team.
Participate in design evaluations aimed at determining manufacturability
Responsible for DOE aimed at assessing product performance, reliability and/or manufacturability
Responsible for or participation in the evaluation of critical dimensions associated with performance of various components
3D solid modeling and 2D drawing, test protocols, technical reports, and other various internal engineering documentation as assigned
Evaluate non-conforming product, perform MRB analysis and disposition of product as required
Evaluate non-conforming product and field returns/repairs for corrective action/root cause fix
Product cost control responsibility

Experience/Education:
BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineer preferred)
1-5 years of experience in a small to mid size company with ability to oversee several areas of responsibility
Medical device/GMP or equivalent document intense environment preferred
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
