Major Duties
Performs a variety of clerical and assistant work. Duties include: receives visitors and phone calls, maintains supervisors calendar, personally provides information requested or directs to staff members those contacts that require attention or action; maintains files in accordance with MARKS system, purgs and retires files; maintains regulations, policies and procedures; orders supplies; etc. Prepares military, civilian, and congressional correspondence. Performs timekeeping and related duties, using an automated reporting system; insures labor charges are appropriately assessed to projects currently being worked. Prepares travel orders for supported employees; identifies project that travel is related to and works closely with Resource Management Office and Project Operations Branch regarding cost codes and to make sure money is available to cover cost of travel.

General Schedule APPLICANTS MUST HAVE ONE YEAR OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE NEXT LOWER PAY BAND OR EQUIVALENT UNDER THE GENERAL SCHEDULE OR OTHER PAY SYSTEMS. 1) Establishing and maintaining files. 2) Arranging meetings and conferences. 3) Maintaining time and attendance for personnel. 4) Preparing correspondence, reports, and other materials from rough draft, notes, and oral instructions.
