Job Listing: Research Scientist

Aerotek is looking for a Research Scientist (contract position) to work with one of our clients in the Wallingford, CT area.

Brief job description and requirements:

Associate or Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology or science related discipline. 0 to 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical arena of drug discovery chemistry, biology, high throughput screening, or Compound management.

A Temporary Scientist will report as a Process Coordinator in Compound Management. The Temporary Scientist will be responsible for the execution of the day to day laboratory workflows, procedures necessary to perform processing of Deck Enhancement program compounds which is critical to the future business function of Compound Management. Daily processing includes but is not limited to preparing and organizing compounds for daily work orders via in house software application, and binning of samples as they are received via vendors. These tasks will include both manual and automated processing of compounds following well defined processes and SOP's.

Familiarity with manual and automated handling of chemical substances and the utilization of liquid handling automation for the fulfillment of order types in Compound management. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated record of accomplishment working with others in team environment. Executes the day to day procedures, processes necessary to accomplish the business function of Compound Management by successfully following complex work flows and procedures. Identifies issues, risks, presents possible solutions, and escalates to management when appropriate. Willingness to learn new processes and instrumentation.
