SALES ENGINEER FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY (Location: Balboa/San Diego)
As a Telecommunications Specialist, this opportunity involves working with the sales dept to help technically “drive” sales and offer support to clients before and after the sales.
Sales Engineer will join sales on sales visits, as needed.
Attends internal data and network meetings.
Conducts site surveys to determine customer requirements and network compatibility.
Coordinates with Operations & Engineering to inform them of access and legal agreements requiring build-out.
Complements sales presentation to customers and prospects.
Develops and executes technical presentations to internal/external groups as needed.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
Ensures product pricing reflects pricing structures set at the corporate level.
Facilitates the delivery of complex, critical and strategic projects to drive channel sales, while ensuring customer satisfaction, quality, and efficiency.
Interfaces with customers and vendors to ensure the integrity of proposals.
Interfaces with Operations & Engineering to ensure network availability/serviceability before orders are finalized.
Participates on Solution Development Teams created for large/complex customers.
Partners with sales organization to determine customer requirements, develops proposals, contracts or contract negotiation as needed.
Performs ROI assessment to determine if a sale is profitable and forwards to manager for approval.
Provides feedback on products to corporate.
Remains current of technical information regarding telephony, data and other service offering, CPE, networking, consultative sales skills and negotiation skills.
Remains current on competitive landscape.
Remains current on technical information regarding clients telephony, data, or other products and services.
Understanding of Premises Equipment (CPE), networking, management, and the commercial real estate industry.
Responds to all Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information in a timely manner.
Supports the sales organization as the technical subject matter expert.
Tracks and follows through on all projects in a timely manner to ensure a professional relationship with the property owner
Works with Sales Director to manage the system's channel portfolio effectively
Develop employees, selects, trains, gives performance feedback and motivates employees in Field Engineering. Communicates and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
Provides expert guidance and problem resolution to project management teams.
Draft and implement appropriate Methods and Procedures for Sales Engineering process.
Manages projects and daily operations to capital expenditures and department budget.
Typical Training / Experience - Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline OR 7+ years experience in related field as a Supervisor/Manager or equivalent. Certification is required in some areas OR Advanced degree and generally 4+ years experience in related field.
