General Summary:
Provide oversight and leadership in the Construction/Facilities Division for the Civil/Architectural discipline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):
- Lead the organizational development and implementation of the civil/architectural section of the Construction/Facilities Division.
- Review all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance.
- Remain knowledgeable of current industry practice and best available technologies.
- Assist in the management of construction progress, quality, and safety.
- Manage and coordinate civil related modifications, designs and contracts.
- Provide oversight and manage civil related work performed at the site by Team Members or contractors.
- Coordinate periodic inspections of plant facilities, buildings, plant site, and surrounding areas to ensure conformance to management expectations as well as conformance to all standards and regulations.
- Provide assistance to all levels of Management regarding the evaluation of civil/architectural issues and make recommendations for resolution.
- Work closely with Team Members on all daily construction and maintenance activities.
- Establish and maintain systems and procedures for group in order to protect team members, facilities, plant site and equipment.
- Interface with vendors, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, local officials, engineers and any other personnel necessary to install, maintain and operate equipment and facilities, to ensure continued production and personnel safety.
- Must be able to work any shift in all shops.

QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related area is required
- Five (5) – seven (7) years of progressive experience in the area of civil and or architectural design and construction.
- Experience in facilities maintenance in the industrial and manufacturing environment
- Construction/Facilities experience, within the automotive industry.
- Emphasis is placed on facilities engineering and management experience.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Facilities maintenance management skills.
- Professional Engineer
- Experience working with word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications and/or software.
