Description:
The mechanical engineer will provide mechanical maintenance support for a new world-scale Polymer plant. Primary short term responsibilities are to lead the efforts to resolve any startup mechanical problems and to assure the maintenance work practices of PM, PdM, planning and scheduling are well established by the maintenance organization.
General Responsibilities:
- Work with mechanical maintenance engineers from sister polymer plants to further improve the worldwide mechanical technology for polymer production
- Lead efforts to track and analyze equipment performance, conduct root cause analysis of failures and develop and implement corrective actions
- Develop and track maintenance budgets
- Provide input to the project engineers executing projects in the plant to ensure minimum Total Cost of Ownership. Input may include review of or providing of mechanical engineering design and specifications for new installations or debottleneck of existing
Required:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 8 years of mechanical maintenance or reliability engineering experience
Desired:
- A thorough understanding of maintenance methods and procedures and standards, applicable code requirements, including PSM, and plant's safety policies
- Experience with solids processing and handling equipment
