Job Listing: Construction Manager/Project Manager

General Summary:
Provide oversight and leadership in the Construction/Facilities Division for the Mechanical discipline. Supervise and lead the mechanical team during the installation and startup of plant equipment in all facilities. Develop, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs and activities for the company to ensure that all mechanical equipment is maintained and that appropriate measures are taken to repair or replace components as necessary to ensure continued operation of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):
- Lead the organizational implementation of the mechanical section of the Construction Division. Review all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance. Remain knowledgeable of current industry practice and best available technologies.
- Assist in the management of construction progress, quality, safety and training for the mechanical discipline.
- Manage production and utility facilities, structure repair and maintenance for the mechanical discipline.
- Lead efforts in Utility Cost Management.
- Assist in the development of maintenance training and staff education.
- Assist with the hiring, training and development of the hourly and salaried staff.
- Coordinate periodic inspections of plant facilities, buildings, plant site, and surrounding areas to ensure conformance to management expectations as well as conformance to all standards and regulations.
- Examine plant facilities equipment slated for purchase and all proposed facility and site modifications to verify specification requirements are met. Recommend actions, modifications and adjustments to correct any deficiencies and ensure compliance prior to purchase or use.
- Provide assistance to all levels of Management regarding the evaluation of mechanical issues and make recommendations for resolution.
- Work closely with Team Members on all daily construction and maintenance activities.
- Establish and maintain systems and procedures for KMMG in order to protect team members, facilities, plant site and equipment.
- Interface with vendors, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, local officials, engineers and any other personnel necessary to install, maintain and operate equipment and facilities at KMMG to ensure continued production and personnel safety.
- Must be able to work any shift in all shops.

QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related area is required
- Five (5) – seven (7) years of progressive experience in the area of mechanical equipment installation, equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance in the industrial and manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry.
- Emphasis is placed on facilities engineering and management experience.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Facilities maintenance management skills.
- Professional Engineer – Mechanical is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications and/or software.
