Job Listing: Bilingual Benefits Coordinator

Our client, a well known full service ship repair company headquartered in Alameda, CA; is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish & English) Benefits Coordinator for a contract to hire opportunity.

On a day to day basis candidates will:
Workers Compensation
- Gather information regarding new injuries/accidents.
- File workers’ compensation injury claims.
- Monitor status of all open disability claims.
- Maintain medical appointment calendar.
- Provide injured workers work status
- Follow-up with authorization requests
- Provide disability status after each appointment.
Benefits Administration (Medical, Dental, Life Insurance)
- Provide Production Manager a listing of employees eligible for benefits two months prior to the effective date of coverage, for review and approval.
- Provide each approved employee a benefit package one month prior to the effective date of coverage, for review and completion.
- Assist employees with questions regarding benefit coverage.
- Inform Payroll when deductions need to take effect or need to stop.
