Our client, a Department of Defense contractor in the Tallahassee FL area, is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer to work on their current projects.
The Electrical Hardware Engineer will be responsible for:
Performing research and development work as assigned, to resolve problems with existing products, design product or component enhancement or contribute to the design of new products where the work involves the application of electrical or electronic principles. Evaluate and develop design modifications. Prepare or review drawings, suggest standards, direct others to, or personally build design models, perform or monitor testing and pilot operations and develop and contribute new ideas. Ensure that components, layout and other specifications for assigned project are correct and that design parameters are consistent with environmental and process factors involved in manufacturing and application. Affect design changes to suit manufacturing or application requirements as directed. Contribute as a team member on assigned projects or conduct limited or routine engineering projects independently, reporting progress regularly.

- Functional Partitioning, SRU Hardware Definition Documents, Design Integration and Validation Test
- Design of Data Acquisition, Micro controller and Digital Signal Processing Electronic Circuits and Circuit Cards
- Design and Simulation of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) using VHDL.
- Design of VHDL Test Benches
- Design and Simulation of Sequential and Combinatorial Logic Circuits and Circuit Cards
- Design of Backplanes and Controlled Impedance Interconnect Assemblies
- Preparation of peer reviews, engineering test procedures and validation test plans.
- Support of fabrication, procurement and assembly of hardware.
- Debug, test, and design validation of brass board prototype hardware.
- Support of off-site sub-system integration and testing.
- Preparation, review and release of Engineering Technical Data Package
Must have background in digital and/or analog design. Background in FPGA design with VHDL and writing VHDL test benches desirable. Analog design experience desirable.
Must be effective with CAD Design and Simulation Tools (Pro E / Mentor / PADS / View Logic / Innoveda / Cadence /ORCAD).
Ability to use complex computer/test equipment and Engineering Development tools in a laboratory and field environment.
Must be capable of carrying test equipment weighing 30lbs and meet ASR Requirements to work inside vehicles.
Must be capable of obtaining a Security Clearance.
Must have strong individual and team work ethics.
Effective communication and technical presentation skills required.
Occasional overtime, and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
Must be available for domestic and international travel
At least 3-5 years related experience
