The Software Giant in Redmond has a 6-12 month position open for an Applications Developer 2 to work as part of a team. Specifically, Our Client is looking for a strong C# Developer with a SQL background.
Description:
The Applications Developer 2:
Designs and develops internal business systems/applications under deadline pressure, or takes primary role in smaller, low-risk projects.
Communicates and defends:
Design
Requirements
Feature Set
Functionality
Usability
Localization Issues
Limitations of Subsystem to the Team
(Note: This position is more heavily focused on the C# development.)
Environment: Client Server Standalone Applications
Group:
Builds tools that enable early warnings indicator systems
Monitors the web for attacks
Team: Made up of three (3) other developers who are working on large projects on the team
What is cool about the team? They work with the most cutting edge technology. The group is very proprietary, so not very many people know what is done in this group due to the nature of the work, as well as their work with Law Enforcement. The team also designs and monitors black box-type of projects.
Day-to-Day:
The Applications Developer 2 will:
Finish up little projects.
Help glue all of the different projects together.
Work on core functionality with key features.

This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position, through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Atlanta, GA. Required Skills
Required Skills for this Applications Developer 2 position include the following:
Main Skills: C# and SQL Server; i.e., must be able to link up code with DNS (domain name servers):
C#:
Must be able to write application from scratch and understand API.
SQL Server:
Must be able to write a basic query with inner and outer joins. Write queries to join databases.
Should know how C# works with SQL Server and how to connect.
Additional Skills:
3-5 years of work-related experience
Specialized expertise in specified areas of Windows Client/Server Development environment and solid Software Engineering practices required
Must be considered an expert in a specific business/functional area
Must have the ability to proactively identify issues and coordinate resolutions
May require an advanced knowledge of technology in one area and moderate level skills in multiple areas (e.g., C++, C, VB, SQL)
Bachelors degree in Computer Science and/or related field required
