*This position is covered under an Inter-Governmental Personnel Act (IPA) agreement and is assigned to the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. The incumbent remains an employee of the Indian Health Service and retains the rights and benefits attached to that status while serving under this assignment.
Major Duties
Provides a full range of psychological services including evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and specialized treatment modalities for children/adolescents and their families. Provides initial psychometric assessment of all clients during the first week of treatment. Provides case-oriented and program-oriented consultation to staff, tribal organizations and community agencies. Refers and coordinates mental health services with outside agencies to ensure appropriate referrals, follow-up and continuity of care. Provides educational and training programs on mental health topics to staff, tribal agencies, tribal groups and tribal leaders as requested. Participates and coordinates clinical on-call schedule. Performs other duties as assigned.

<P><STRONG>Basic Requirement:</STRONG> Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.</p><p><B style=’mso-bidi-font-weight: normal’><U>Selective Placement Factor:</U></B> Each PHS Clinical Psychologist must possess and maintain a valid current, unrestricted license or certification in a US State.<B style=’mso-bidi-font-weight: normal’><U></U></B></P><br><br><p><STRONG>Additional requirements for all applicants: </STRONG>In addition to meeting the ’Basic Requirement’ listed above applicants must have related specialized experience in the amount shown below:</p><p><br><P><STRONG>GS-13:</STRONG> 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level.</p><p><STRONG>Specialized Experience:</STRONG> Professional knowledge of psychological principles, theories, methods and data, and the ability to provide individual adolescents, groups, and families; knowledge of the range of intervention strategies, including detoxification and self-help groups; and knowledge of residential and hospital based treatment of substance abuse and mental health problems including staff, client, family and community issues that arise in these facilities and the ability to address them.</P></P><B><br><p>Your description of work experience, level of responsibility, and accomplishments will be used to determine that you meet these requirements.</P></B>
Basic Requirements: Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
PHS Licensure Policy: Each PHS Clinical Psychologist must possess and maintain a valid current, unrestricted license or certification in a U.S. State.
U.S. Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
Time in Grade: You must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Salary Range: 77,670.00 - 100,976.00 USD per year
