About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Supervisory Police Officer.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Conditions of employment for this position are: (1) Must qualify with the appropriate service weapon. (2) Must successfully complete the Wisconsin Basic Police Course Certification. (3) Must successfully complete an annual medical examination. (4) Must successfully complete the annual physical fitness exam. (5) Must meet all security screening requirements. (6) Must maintain certification in the Individual Reliability Program. (7) Receive and maintain certification in first aid.
Incumbent is subject to mandatory drug and alcohol testing. Incumbent is subject to an irregular tour of duty to cover 24 hour, 7 days a week operations.
Work is performed inside the Police Station while coordinating the efforts of the shift work and outside while spot-checking officers on shift or responding to emergency situations.

Major Duties
In this position, you will supervise the day-to-day work of approximately 15-20 police officers assigned to police station desk operations, patrol duties and security post duties. Make periodic and unannounced post inspections. Keep employees advised on changes in regulations, laws and procedures affecting their operations, and provides training as required. Perform vehicle and foot patrol duties. Respond to emergency calls, transport prisoners/other personnel, answer calls for assistance, excercises arrest authority, investigates situations, detains witnesses, apprehends suspects, administers first aid, etc. Perform general law enforcement activities such as writing and reviewing police reports, investigating crimes, processing accident scenes, & running radar equipment. Direct activities for police services & coordinates the support of local police units. Serve as Police Station Commander during non-duty hours/days and is responsible for all law enforcement related functions.

General Schedule **SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Candidates for this position must identify in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience and/or training with supervisory or managerial skills in conjunction with the responsibilities in the following: Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.
**The Army Civilian Education System (CES) is a structured, progressive, sequential program which broadens the targeted civilian educational training base. It provides leader training and education that supports civilian leaders? career path requirements and professional development, and promotes lifelong learning and self development as integral parts of the civilian leader development program. CES provides leader development opportunities for Army civilians. The following course and time requirements apply to this position: The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position. The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all supervisors and managers hired after 30 September 2006. The Basic Course (BC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position. The Intermediate Course (IC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. The Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position.
