Job Listing: Sr. Microbiologist

Aerotek is currently seeking an experienced microbiologist to join our client's corporate quality group as a Sr. Microbiologist. This position coordinates the corporate microbiology testing program for domestic, international, and contract manufacturing operations. Develops, validates, and implements global microbiological specifications, policies, and procedures. And establishes/maintains the preservative efficacy testing program.

Duties include :

Coordinating the corporate microbiology testing program for domestic, international, and contract manufacturing operations

Establish/maintain the preservative efficacy testing program for all developed formulas

Perform the preservative challenge testing in a timely manner

Provide test method development and testing for claims substantiation

Provide global services for microorganism identification

Perform environmental and microbiology audits

Review new/revised equipment and system installations for sanitary design prior to installation

Develop a micro stability program that will have a rapid preservative efficacy screen test and a multiple challenge of the preservative systems

Purchase and maintain all necessary microbiology laboratory supplies

Review, develop and implement possible new rapid methods for microbial screening of production

Required Skills for Sr. Microbiologist Job:

  • 5+ YEARS PRIOR MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY EXPERIENCE IN A MANUFACTURING/R&D ENVIRONMENT
  • 2+ SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS
  • EXPERIENCE WITH PRESERVATIVE SYSTEMS IN CONSUMER PRODUCTS
  • BE ABLE TO USE A PERSONAL COMPUTER WITH SPREADSHEET AND WORD PROCESSING CAPABILITIES
  • BE FAMILIAR WITH AND EXPERIENCED IN USING ALL MICROBIOLOGY SAMPLING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT
  • BA/BS IN MICROBIOLOGY OR BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
