Job Listing: Business Analyst

A client in downtown Chicago is in need of business analysts that are going to be working on several different applications/projects. Analysts will be responsible for the following: Managing, maintaining, and promoting understanding of user and system requirements for stakeholders external to the IT area. The business analysts serve to ensure understanding of product/system features and functionality between these stakeholders and product development teams. Individual will manage requirements toward the goal of improving the quality and efficiency of the client's software development life cycle, with an emphasis on the early and late stages of the life cycle that have customer interaction. Works with stakeholders to resolve and prioritize issues for projects, products, or initiatives. Primary responsibility is to research and write documentation following templates which describes these stakeholders' requirements, to get written approval of those artifacts, and to serve as a reference during the software design, development, and testing processes, to ensure these stakeholder requirements are understood by those who need to meet them. Manages the development and communication of external stakeholder software requirements, including changes to existing requirements. Resolves complex issues between Product Management and a defined set of additional stakeholders inside and outside of the software group. Identifies product features, performance, fault tolerance and deployment needs. Participates in system demonstration and validation. Contributes to development of company objectives and principles and System Engineering vision and direction. Responsibilities may include supervising of system analyst activities such as, coordinating system engineering efforts, identify scope of work, assign workload, review of requirements artifacts, project/task planning and administrative duties. Trains and mentors system analyst staff. Responsible for overall architecture of requirements management system.

Non-technical skills essential for this assignment: Undergraduate degree, 9 yrs. relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. International business experience preferred. 7 yrs. software development life cycle technical experience as a developer or tester required. 6 yrs. business and application domain knowledge to understand the database and the user community needs. Developed written and oral communication skills. Advanced ability to work effectively both independently and with others. Strong leadership ability, organizational skills, and conflict resolution skills.
