Job Listing: Biochemist

A bio technical company located in Exton, PA is currently looking for a Biochemist. The successful candidate will assist the Biochemistry Development Group in developing and executing purification processes at laboratory to pilot scale, as well as in the design and execution of assays to support process development. Looking for someone that has 3 years of experience in biochemistry with a protein purification background

Essential Functions
- Operation and maintenance of automated purification and filtration equipment.

- Preparation of buffers and intermediates in the purification of target proteins.

- Conduct in-process and release testing of target protein and intermediates by SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, immunoassay, protein concentration determination.

- For this position, we need to have site-on experience with various chromatographic techniques to purify proteins.

- It is better to have some (not all) technologies (e.g. affinity, ion-exchange, size-exclusion, hydrophobic reactions) to apply for protein purifications.

- Also, we need persons who can do basic protein analyses (e.g. SDS-PAGE, ELISA, Blotting)

- Aid in the upkeep and maintenance of Biochemistry Development laboratory, equipment and stocks.

- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

- Education:BS or MS in biochemistry or related field

- Candidate must be familiar with major chromatographic processes (ion exchange, HIC, gel filtration, affinity chromatography, etc.) and biophysical analytical methods (SDS-PAGE), as well as familiarity with requirements of BSL-2 level work practice

The position is 6 months to hire. Need to pass a drug test and background. There are flex hours, want the person to put in an 8 hour day. Could start at 7:00 am, but normal hours are 9-4pm.
