Job Listing: Hardware Technician

Our client is the world's largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, providing energy that helps underpin growing economies and improve living standards around the world.

Contract: 1yr renewable

Work Description: Hardware Technician responsible for diagnostic and repair of Dell Desktops/laptops and loading of corporate XP Windows OS Images.
Requires troubleshooting of software/hardware issues on XP Operating Systems, maintaining repair logs, engaging Dell for warranty repairs and performing in-house repairs for non-warranty hardware.
In addition candidate will backup and assist with inventory management processes, including dispensing deployable machines to Level 2 technicians and surplus equipment removal.

Candidate Must:
* Be a Dell Certified Hardware Technician with minimum of 5 years experience maintaining Dell hardware
* Expert understanding of Dell hardware and diagnostics
* Working level knowledge of Dell Warranty processing, Dell Parts Direct, Diagnostic
* Understanding of operating systems (Windows NT, Windows XP)
* Experienced with Microsoft Office products including WORD and EXCEL
* The ability to lift and move commonly used computer equipment.

Soft skills required include:
* Attention to detail and accuracy of HW/Inventory logs
*Ability to work independently
* Technician will be held Accountable for all hardware in his/her possession/control
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task. Basic understanding of LAN topology with some exposure to wire management. Candidate must be flexible to work shifts as early as 7:00 a.m. to as late as 6:00 p.m.
