This position is located in the National Weather Service, Pacific
Region, Administrative Management Division, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The
incumbent performs technical aspects of administrative programs and
activities for the office related to budget, funds control,
permanent change of station travel, and international travel.
The position may be filled at the GS-5, GS-6, or GS-7 grade
levels with known promotion potential to the GS-7.
Salary Chart:
GS-5: $26,264-$34,139
GS-6: $29,276-$39,060
GS-7: $32,534-$42,290.
PLUS, 25% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA), which is not federally
taxed.

Major Duties
The incumbent maintains overall control for single trips,
conferences, Permanent Change of Station (PCS) and other special
travel order expenditures in order to reconcile the overall levels
reflected in the fund status reports, determines errors and problem
areas, and provides input to monthly resource reports; assists in
the compilation of financial data and preparation of reports which
reflect the current obligational status of regular and PCS travel
expenses; monitors travel budget ceilings; tracks financial data for
other programs including FEDEX, Government Bills of Lading, GSA
Vehicles, travel and energy consumption reports; maintains files,
spreadsheets, or other records for forecasting milestones and
tracking progress and relevant expenditure categories such as funds,
FTE, work hours, materials, maintenance, and energy; prepares
recurring and special reports; receives, analyzes, corrects and
classifies all classes of travel orders submitted by regional staff;
prepares, numbers and processes travel orders; maintains files and
financial records for current and prior year travel and PCS
expenditures and provides a monthly analysis of differences and
trends; maintains computerized tracking system for all travel and
PCS; verifies expenses and provides reports of expenditures;
accesses financial data for travel from database system; and
prepares year-end accrual adjustment entries. The incumbent will
also be responsible for passenger travel services which includes
domestic, foreign, and PCS travel. More specifically, the incumbent
plans itineraries, prepares travel orders and travel vouchers,
secures reservations and tickets and maintains the travel card and
purchase card application program for the region.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is defined as experience that provided the
applicant with practical understanding and skill in the application
of administrative rules, regulations and procedures associated with
recording, reporting, processing, and keeping track of budgetary
transactions such as appropriations, allotments, obligations, tasks,
etc. and practical understanding and skill in Federal travel rules
and regulations governing official, unofficial, civilian, foreign,
domestic, overseas, and permanent change of station travel.

Salary Range: 26,264.00 - 42,290.00 USD per year
