Major Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Center for Special Operations (CSO) senior Business Manager expert responsible for management and coordination of all CSO contracts budget, manpower, and management of the CSO acquisition programs. Synchronizes day-to-day operations of the CSO Support Staff.  Provides oversight to all CSO Support Staff branches. Accomplishes long-range planning to ensure the CSO
Support Staff meets the CSO Director's strategic vision for the Center. Plans, directs and coordinates a variety of general support service functions that are essential to the orderly and efficient accomplishment of the organization's mission. Assists the CSO Director and the CSO Support Staff Director with special projects and programs requiring complicated or otherwise exceptionally challenging coordination. Directs the CSO manpower, personnel,
and services budget, planning, reengineering, systems development, and innovation activities. Manages the development of the CSO long-range personnel plans, program goals, policies, and procedures dealing with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES). Provides oversight on management of all CSO operations support contracts and budget actions. Knowledgeable of all CSO support contract and serves as technical representative of the contracting officer for CSO support contracts. Conducts reviews of applicants and provides recommendations to the Support Staff Director on civilian hires within the CSO Support Staff. Coordinates manpower changes and manages PDM growth for the CSO Director. Provides oversight on and coordinates with external exercise evaluation teams. Monitors and evaluates progress toward meeting CSO goals, makes adjustments in objectives, work plans, schedules and commitment of resources as required. Incumbent is required to independently resolve problems or issues associated with the business management of the CSO.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.




A newly appointed or reappointed employee may receive service credit for prior work experience or active duty uniformed service that otherwise would not be creditable for the purpose of determining his or her annual leave accrual rate.  All creditable service must be directly related to the duties of the position being filled and decisions to allow for such credit must be finalized prior to the selectee’s entrance on duty.  The use of this service credit incentive is at the discretion of the selecting official and service credit is granted only for a position deemed hard-to-fill.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

1. Position requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Position has recurring access to Top Secret/SCI information.
2. This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement
for employment, the incumbent is (a) to refrain from use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested to submit to urinalysis testing. Incumbent must sign a
statement acknowledging the position occupied is a TDP.
3. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft.
