We have an immediate opening for a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Mental Health to cover both the Mansfield and Wooster Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). 

Major Duties

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Mental Health to cover both the Mansfield and Wooster Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).  The tour of duty is Monday through Friday; however the hours rotate (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; and 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Will require travel to both CBOC’s and possibly others as needed.  The incumbent will work collaboratively with the mental health team as well as all other CBOC staff in providing direct mental health services to veterans.

What To Expect Next:

Once your complete application is received we will conduct an evaluation of your qualifications and determine your ranking. On May 14, 2004, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs approved consolidation of the Wade Park and Brecksville campuses to a single campus at Wade Park.  When consolidated facilities are completed at Wade Park, VA operations at Brecksville will ease and most employees will be reassigned to the Wade Park campus.  Other reassignments may predate the final cessation of operations at Brecksville, including but not limited to the establishment of a VA outpatient clinic at Parma, OH.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum requirements:



MSN in Psychiatric - Mental Health Nursing from an NLN accredited program.

Current RN license, Certificate of Authority to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse.

ANA Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric - Mental Health Nursing.

Graduate level pharmacology course.

Advanced skills in physical assessment preferred.

Record of excellent attendance.

Evidence of positive interpersonal skills in an interdisciplinary setting.

Computer literacy and knowledge of CPRS.

Flexibility as a team member, but evidencing leadership qualities.
