This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Preparedness Directorate (NPD), Technological Hazards Division, Radiological Emergency Preparedness Branch. The incumbent of this position will serve as Emergency Management Specialist and perform work that involves the design, development, evaluation and implementation of emergency preparedness plans, procedures, capabilities and exercises related to technological or natural hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level that involved the evaluation and implementation of emergency preparedness plans, procedures, capabilities and exercises related to technological or natural hazards. This experience must have equipped the applicant with a working knowledge of rules, regulations, directives, policies and standards related to emergency preparedness plans, procedures, capabilities and exercises.
OR
Applicant must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or must have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M program. To be qualifying, education must be in emergency management, crisis management, homeland security or a directly related major field of study that demonstrates applicant’s knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
QUALIFICATIONS: GS-09
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level that involved the evaluation and implementation of emergency preparedness plans, procedures, capabilities and exercises.
OR
Applicant must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or must have completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D program. To be qualifying, education must be in emergency management, crisis management, homeland security or a directly related major field of study that demonstrates applicant’s knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
