Job Listing: Purchasing Assistant

Materials Specialist

A leading manufacturer of sports equipment located in the North County area of San Diego is currently seeking a Materials Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the movement of materials throughout the company's supply chain through purchase order maintenance and defective material return processing.

Duties for this position include:
- Coordinate the purchase, pick & shipment of products for delivery to international subsidiaries while functioning as a liaison to those international subsidiaries.
- Process & maintain data in purchase orders
- Process all defective material reports (credit requests) including the coordination of shipping those defective components
- Facilitate all non-component international shipments
- Research future product pricing with operation suppliers.
- Train/Re-train/Advise Planner-Buyers on international component shipments policies, procedures and techniques.
- Act as substitute/back-up or overflow purchasing agent for maintenance, repair and operating supplies (MRO) Buyer.
- Maintain purchase order files
- Process and distribute queries and reports to Planner-Buyers.
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of college education (60 credit hours) required, AA or AS degree or better preferred.
- Extensive computer skills required, especially with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong interpersonal skills
