Client Information

Our client is a construction company. They provide construction services in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. They have completed base buildings, renovation, and interior construction projects of all sizes for corporate headquarters, the public sector, law firms, associations, technology companies, telecommunications firms, mission critical facilities, schools, broadcast facilities, restaurants, retail, and many other clients including those that prefer or require sustainable construction. They are an employee-owned company, with annual revenue to exceed $800 million this coming year. They employ a skilled labor force of over 250 to self perform finish carpentry, demolition, drywall, and concrete work, in addition to managing traditionally subcontracted trades. The IT is 4 Engineers and 1 Help Desk Technician. They are losing an Engineer and Help Desk Technician. They have 40 servers.



Duties

The position will provide support in three areas: (1) Server (2) End users and (3) Network with a focus on the network side. They have 40 total servers, 99% of which is Microsoft Windows 2003. They have a highly automated Active Directory structure. They have Microsoft Exchange 2003 and are moving 2007. They use Aventail VPN. Users are training on Citrix. They have Citrix 4 and are moving to Citrix 4.5. They use Bomgar as a remote support tool. Monitoring IP versions 4 & 6 on Layers 1 & 2. Monitoring tool is What’s Up Gold. Support printer connections. They have virtual servers. They are mainly Microsoft XP and 2003 and will be moving to 2007.



Qualifications

2-3 Years experience providing network and server support. Our client requires a College Degree. This is a Mid-Level position that would start in the salary of $50-60K Range. A Tier 3 Desktop Support / Junior Administrator would be good if they know networking and IP. They have Engineers that have strong points in Citrix, Checkpoint, and Symantec Antivirus, so they are looking for some to be all around skills, but strong in Cisco networking. The person that is leaving does a lot of their network monitoring and support.

The interview process is: (1) Human Resources Phone Screen (2) Technical Phone Screen (3) Personal Panel Interview. This is a 6 month right to hire contract.
