Major Duties

Serves as an Aerospace Engineer in the Engine Certification Office (ECO) applying advanced engineering knowledge and experience with responsibility for initial certification and ongoing regulatory administration of a variety of airworthiness programs. As an Aerospace Engineer, directly participates in and is responsible for planning, developing, reviewing and evaluating major certification projects and continuing airworthiness programs.

Required Skills

Qualifications

Primary Qualification Method: A bachelor's or higher degree in engineering (or equivalent) in an accredited college or university as follows: (1) in an engineering school with at least one curriculum accredited by ABET, (2) or include differential & integral calculus and sources in 5 of the following 7 areas: (a) statics, dynamics, (b) strength of materials; (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields/circuits; (f) nature/properties of materials; (g) other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, i.e. optics/heat transfer/ soil mechanics/electronics. Candidates must also have one (1) year professional engineering experience which demonstrates that they have the skills and working knowledge of issues effecting the design and certification of aircraft engines. This specialized experience must be equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal Government. Such experience must have equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
U.S. Citizen
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Successful completion of a security investigation will be required
