Job Listing: Vice President - Operations Risk Management
The Operations Risk Management Group (ORM) is looking to fill a high profile risk management position that provides a global opportunity to view risk on both a cross product and global basis, and get involved in risk management activities as well as strategic development of the risk management framework.
Through a collaborative partnership with the various operational areas, ORM’s mission is to provide a framework that: enables the proactive identification, analysis, assessment and mitigation of key risks across Operations, ensures best practices are implemented for key controls and provides risk management training and tools to Operations’ staff to minimize incidents and issues. The group directly supports senior Operations management including the Operations Operating Committee, the Operations Risk Steering Committee and Global Product Heads.
Main responsibilities include:
Manage all aspects of the monthly Operations Risk Summary Report, including being the key decision maker for what materials are presented to the Operations Risk Steering Committee.
Work with the various business units in Operations to develop a Global Key Risk Indicator (KRI) report.
Design a strategic metrics reporting solution to manage global risk metric data.
Coordinate with the Firmwide Operational Risk Dept to incorporate key risks that are mapped to the Basel II / AMA Capital Calculation.
Manage Operations' Global Incident Reporting Program.
Perform root cause analysis of incidents to identify areas of increased risk for management attention.
Design a framework that promotes best practice sharing of incidents and lessons learned.
Play a lead role in risk mitigation projects at a cross product and global level.
Manage SOX change management process globally.
Develop and manage a team of two risk management professionals.
Required Skills
Minimum 5 years experience in Operations or Finance, with solid knowledge of the business processes and system flows in Operations.
Operations experience preferred.
Successful track record of project management.
Proven people management skills.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to understand complex workflows.
Solid understanding of risks and controls within the Investment Banking industry is required; ideal candidate is familiar with the Basel II and SOX regulations.
Ability to analyze and understand operational metrics, key risk indicators and to observe trends, risks and the big picture.
Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly .
Self starter with high energy level.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Strong relationship management skills.
