A leading national architectural firm is seeking Project Architects for their Phoenix office location. The primary function of this position will be to coordinate and lead an architectural drafting team on a project in developing documents. In addition, assist the project manager with project administration from schematic design through construction administration.
Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, relating to healthcare architectural work, Revit experience a plus.
Responsibilities:
¿ Represents the firm in a professional manner.
¿ Follows applicable guidelines for project standards as described in the Quality Management Manual.
¿ Follows office standards as described in the company policy manual.
¿ Continues education to improve technical knowledge and skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals and other resources.
¿ Assists in maintaining project files in a timely manner.
¿ Works with project designer in developing schematic design.
¿ Develops document mini-set for design development and construction documents.
¿ Coordinates and delegates work to personnel.
¿ Develops designs and sketches to be developed into completed documents.
Assists project manager monitoring:
¿ Project scope and work plan.
¿ Labor calculations.
¿ Project schedule.
¿ Coordinates architectural work with other disciplines.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of architectural codes including UPC, UFC, NEC, all applicable NFPA manuals, Barrier-Free, ADA, and CALDAG. Reviews design and documents for code compliance.
¿ Assist project designer with project design including site development, plan layout, construction detailing, material selection and elevation development.
¿ Coordinates quality management compliance, review, and corrections.
¿ Develops architectural specifications for coordination with construction documents.
Assists project manager with the bidding/negotiations phase including:
¿ Preparing and distributing bidding documents.
¿ Coordinating and completing addendum and bidding documents.
¿ Assist in bid reviews.
Assists project manager with the construction administration phase including:
¿ On-site construction visits and progress reviews.
¿ Responding to Architectural construction questions.
¿ Coordinating and completing bulletin documents.
¿ Shop drawing review and distribution.
¿ Attend project team meeting and provide project manager with status report of progress on architectural documents.
¿ Coordination with outside consultants as assigned by the project manager.
¿ Site and field work, including site investigation, existing facility inventory and field measured documentation.
¿ Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project manager.
¿ Duties otherwise assigned related to employee’s technical skills and knowledge.
¿ All other duties as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications:
¿ High school diploma. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in architecture/drafting or computer-related post high school training.
¿ Non-degree persons must have three to six years’ prior construction documentation experience.
¿ Meet qualifications described for technical support.
¿ Working knowledge of construction materials, standards and codes.
¿ Ability to work effectively with team members and to direct subordinate team members.
¿ Working knowledge of specifications, CSI and other formats.
