Biologist I

A leading biotechnology company in the St. Louis area has an immediate need for a Biologist I

This individual will contribute to selected insect control projects by performing assays on selected plant tissues. This project is scheduled to last 3 months with no possibility of permanent employment.

Major Job Duties:
*Assist research entomologist in the implementation and maintenance of the laboratory
*Conduct growth chamber experiments that will capture data critical to the project
*Perform assays of selected tissues protected by selected insect control molecules

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
*At least a B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Plant Sciences, or a related field
*1-2 years of experience in Entomology/ Plant Protection
*Familiarity doing general lab work including plant care and experience with data collection
*Experience with keeping lab records and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
*Understanding of plant/ insect relationships
*Experience running different types of assay tests

Standard week is M-F, day time working hours. Occasional overtime may be required
