Job Listing: DO-178B Software Engineer

The client is a leader in Aviation Piston Engines.

This is a contract position, expected to last at least 1 year. The key to this position is experience with DO-178B (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification) working on FAA projects. Candidates must have a BS in Engineering. Can be SW eng, mechanical eng, electrical eng, systems eng or aerospace engineering.

Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience with DO-178B in all phases including planning, development, testing, configuration management, and QA. If candidates had DER certification (Designated Engineering Representative) for FAA, it would be ideal but not required.

The client is looking for someone who has worked on numerous different projects throughout career. However, this candidate will only be responsible for this 1 project during his/her contract and all efforts will be focused on this project. This person will act as a liaison between the client's DER in Seattle, WA, with client in Williamsport, PA, and the supplier in the UK. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to do so. Also, must be open to traveling to all locations, but travel will be less than 25%.
