Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 and 401k, Vision/ Medical/ Dental

Design Engineer Position:
Facilitates the successful design, fabrication, and installation for structural and architectural building systems. Applies structural engineering skills and building code knowledge in analyzing, designing, and facilitating construction of these building systems, including: Parking Structures, Pre-stressed elements, architectural exterior cladding systems.

Ensures a safe working environment by observing and enforcing company safety procedures and by exercising sound engineering judgment in design and construction of projects. Works with teams from project management to create cost effective, structurally sound building solutions. As the primary structural designer for a given project, the DE should be self reliant, but will need to seek the guidance when appropriate.

Specific duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare Structural Engineering Design Calculations and details
- Review construction documents for conformance
- Work alongside project management team to determine cost effectiveness
- Facilitates permit process by providing supplemental calculations
- Attend design meetings off and on site
- Provides production support calculations
- Facilitates erection phase by providing calculation/design for field as-built conditions
- Regular site visits
- Research Current and New design standards

Must be familiar with the following:

- California Building Codes
- International Building Codes
- ASCE 7 (Minimum design loads for structures)
- AISC 360 (Specs. for Design of structural Steel)
- ACI 318 (Building Code Requirements for Concrete)
- AutoCAD Expert
- Advanced Math Skills
* Must be Flexible on Travel (Usually Day Trips)

Education:

BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
EIT Certification
PE or within a year of taking the test
