Our client, one of the larges construction companies internationally, is currently in search of a Safety Manager for immediate hire.
DESCRIPTION
The Safety Manager reports directly to the Corporate Safety Director and is responsible for implementation and coordination of safety and loss control programs within the company. As Safety Manager, he/she provides professional and technical resources to the construction project teams. Will be supervising site safety managers. The candidate must be comfortable at the construction site, working with the Project Management and directing employee training in the field.
* Direct and participates in safety audits of operations to reduce occupation safety risk factors and ensure compliance with Webcor safety directives and federal, state and local regulations.
** Implements and manages Webcor's Injury/Illness Prevention Program and directs and coordinates the participation of employees within that programs.
** Reports safety findings to management and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions; monitors changes and /or makes follow-up inspections.
** Trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of Site Safety Managers and other assigned staff.
** Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
** Coordinates and/or delivers on-site training to project staff on safety practices and policies and related topics.
** Monitors substance abuse programs at all jobsites.
** Conduct Quarterly Safety Meetings.
** Participates in developing and administering safety incentives.
** Confer with attorneys regarding liability cases.
** Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
** Bachelor's Degree in related field (ie: Engineering, Safety, Health Sciences, Risk Management or equivalent)
** OSHA 500 Certified Trainer
** Requires 8 years of related construction Safety experience.
** Supervisory experience required.
** Technical as well as practical knowledge of basic construction safety laws. (OSHA, Hazmat, crane safety and excavation safety).
** Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to both tradesmen and management.
** Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
