Volt Technical Resources is seeking a dedicated, energetic, team-player for the position of Mechanical Engineer.

This position is for a mechanical engineer on the Engine Installation Team with the Medium Wheel Loader Product Group. This position is responsible for supporting concept, design, analysis, and testing activities to meet component temperature requirements in the machine engine compartment. This person will support computation fluid dynamics (CFD) analysts with machine requirements, Pro/E geometry, and technical specifications.

This engineer will work with other system teams and suppliers to design heat shields, insulation, and other heat management components. This position will also will coordinate with test engineers to develop test validation methods on machine dynamometers and test tracks.



Required Skills

This position requires a degreed mechanical engineer with at least 3 years of practical experience, proficiency with solid modeling software, and a fundamental understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Candidates must possess proven analytical and problem solving skills. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively using both written and verbal methods and possess good interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in cross function teams.

Desired: It is desired that the candidate have design experience with engine or cooling systems for construction or automotive applications. Experience with Pro/E, CFD meshing, and machine thermal testing would be desirable. Familiarity with engineering standards, releasing process, 6 Sigma, and design FMEAs would also be beneficial.
